Andrew Briggs is an entrepreneur who started his working career in Estate Agency, moving on to the mobile telephone industry in the 90’s. Together with Simon Jordon he formed The PocketPhone Shop in 1994, growing it in 6 years to 160 retail outlets. For a number of years both were listed in the Times Top 1000 Rich List.

Age : 41 (and bald).

Lives : In Sunny Oxfordshire.

Years In Business : 20 long ones!

Star Sign : Aquarius.

Childhood Ambition : To be a commercial airline pilot.

Pastimes : Guitar & Piano, travelling, cooking.

Proudest Moment : Not losing the plot after selling PocketPhone Shop.

 

Business Experience :

1984-1989 :

Stickley & Kent (Estate Agents). Selling houses in the Hampstead area of north London.

1989-1993 :

Carphone Warehouse. Managing the first retail store in Marylebone Road.

1994-2000 :

The PocketPhone Shop. Co-founding and running the business as its Chairman until sold to one2one with 160 retail units in 2000 for £80m. Ex-partner Simon Jordan went on to acquire Crystal Palace FC.

2001-2002 :

Emigrated to Spain, but returned on missing England.

2003-present :

Various ventures. Including World Ventures, Superset, VH Properties Ltd, Perfectus (Australasia) and Allegro Entertainment LLP.
